Just trying to take a few inmates out on what seemed like a fairly boring trip, really. Shortsightedness on my part.

Inmates wanting to escape shouldn't come as a surprise. But considering this stop was a quiet, backwoods sort of place, I thought that this would have been a good time to exercise some trust, some freedom. I was proven wrong.

They exercised freedom - merely in a direction you did not care for.
It was still right to offer the choice. There will be no shortage of them beyond these walls.

He doesn't seem like the type, thankfully. But he's also only my temporary inmate. Who knows what the future will bring.
