and of course most of them are here against their will. they are inmates. this is prison. it's rehab, too, but it can be both.
the trick is to suss out what's the damaging sort of wanting attention, what's just their egos talking, and what's actually affirmation that they need.
Inmates, yes, but people who never got to plead their case, to defend themselves. Just showing up here out of nowhere. I'd be acting out too if I were in their position.
Hopefully I can figure that out, at least in Volk's case. I'm no therapist, but I can at least hear him out.
